Chemical & Flammable Storage
More than 50,000 weatherproof Parkline buildings are reliably serving customers throughout the U.S. and Canada. For reliable, custom-tailored protection, you can count on a chemical and flammable material storage building by Parkline. Parkline's series HMS (hazardous materials storage) buildings are Factory Mutual approved, and they meet or surpass federal, state, and local requirements for the storage of hazardous substances. Spill containment, fire protection, personnel safety and security features meet and exceed the industry's most demanding standards.
Economical: Parkline pre-engineered chemical and flammable material storage buildings are more economical than comparably sized buildings of masonry or other construction. Because they are delivered assembled, costly construction delays are avoided. They are easily relocatable with use of forklifts or other standard lifting equipment. For on-site erection of larger buildings, Parkline's nationwide network of 250 construction crews are ready to assist you.
Durable: Parkline chemical and flammable material storage buildings are built with painted galvanized steel walls and galvalume roof panels. Exterior walls are protected with a specially formulated primer coat that provides maximum adhesion to the substrate, and a finish coat of siliconized polyester for long-lasting durability and attractive appearance. Wall panel construction has a low fire hazard rating equal to a Class 1 material as defined by Factory Mutual. To store corrosive materials, interior surfaces can be finished with chemical resistant epoxy.
Spill Containment System: Each Parkline chemical and flammable material storage building has a spill containment reservoir with a capacity in excess of 25 percent of the building's drum storage - far surpassing the minimum required by OSHA and EPA. The containment reservoir is constructed of continuously welded epoxy coated heavy gauge steel with under-sump inspection area and removable flooring for ease of cleaning. Floors may be fire retardant plywood, or a grating of steel or fiberglass which provides high load carrying capacity. The reservoir is available with an optional polypropylene liner for even greater chemical resistance. Other options are liquid level detectors for storage monitoring and loading ramps.
Interior options: Parkline buildings can be provided with one or two-hour fire-rated walls, one-hour rated ceilings and 1.5 hour rated doors meeting UL tested assembly and meeting or surpassing other major codes for hazardous materials storage.
Explosion-proof electrical, lights, ventilation and temperature control systems may be specified. Electrical and lighting systems are UL approved and meet NEMA, NFPA, and NEC standards. All through wall openings are protected by 1.5 hour UL classified fire dampers with a fusible link. Explosion-proof ventilation systems provide specified air movement. An internal static grounding bar prevents ignition of stored materials from static electrical charges. Wall mounted explosion relief panels with restraints may also be provided.
Parkline chemical and flammable material storage buildings can be supplied with optional fire suppression systems: water sprinkler systems with outside fire department connection or dry chemical fire suppression system for use in flammable liquid storage applications.
Personnel Safety: To afford maximum personnel protection, Parkline chemical and flammable material storage buildings may be furnished with emergency eye, face, and shower systems. Also, emergency lighting, audible alarms and flashing lights can be installed for additional safety. Emergency eggress is a standard door feature.
